Expert team members of 973 project consisted of academician Wang Guodong from Northeastern University , Prof. Zhang Guoding from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Xie Changsheng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dr. Xie Chongbo from Project Office of the Basis of Division of Science and Technology, Vice President of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Development Center Shiwen Fang, Prof.Wu Kun from Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Nie Jianfeng from Australia Monash University, and Prof. Guan Shaokang from Zhengzhou University, etc. Project group experts, as well as the person in charge of
Science and Technology Department of Chongqing University participated in the conference by invitation. This project was undertaken by Chongqing University and some other participating units including Shanghai Jiaotong University, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Nonferrous Metal Research Institute, Beijing University of Technology, Northeastern University, Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Central South University, etc.. The deputies from the above units attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by the chief scientist of the project Prof. Liu Qing from Chongqing University.
Expert team leader Prof. Pan Fusheng extended his warm welcome to the leaders, experts and peers who attend the acceptance meeting. He confirmed the hard work of all the units in the project during 5 years from the project initiation. He pointed out that Magnesium alloy 973 project have achieved fruitful research achievements, which significantly increased the level of basic research of magnesium alloy material and promoted international scientific and technological cooperation. A large number of foreign well-known magnesium alloy experts and scholars came to our country to inspect, exchange and visit, which improved the popularity of our research and development of magnesium alloy in the international arena. Prof. Pan Fusheng also said, CCMG of Chongqing University passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology with the outstanding achievements for the No.1in 2010. He expressed, this outstanding achievement is due to the successful implementation of the 973 project, which is also reflects the state recognition and affirmation of the development in the magnesium alloy material field. Dr. Xie Chongbo from Project Office of the Basis of Division of Science and Technology made an important speech on the subject of acceptance notes.
During the meeting, project Prof. Liu Qing, the chief scientist, introduced the overall requirements and implementation of the project, and 6 project leaders detailed summary reports on each subject, respectively. Expert team experts have carefully reviewed and scored the materials for project acceptance submitted by the group of project, six topics were all successfully passed the acceptance. In late November 2011, the acceptance for 973 Project will be organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
