The 3rd General and the 10th anniversary celebration of Chongqing Materials Society Conference (the 3rd Materials Annual Conference) were held in Chongqing Keyuan Hotel on April 23, 2011. Some 150 members of the materials sector of the Chongqing region from CCMG, School of Materials Science and Engineering of Chongqing University, Chongqing Logistical Engineering University, School of Materials Science and Engineering Southwest University, Southwest Aluminum (Group) Co., Ltd., Chongqing Changan Automobile Group Corporation, Chongqing Iron and Steel Group Company and other units attended the conference. Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Zeng Sumin, Secretary-General of C-MRS Han Yafang, Vice-Chairman of Chongqing Science Association Dai Wei and Dr. Huang Xiaoxu from Riso National Laboratory in Denmark were invited to attend the conference.
    The chairman of Conference Pan Fusheng delivered an opening speech at the opening ceremony, and thanked the leaders and members participated in the conference. He gave a brief review of the 10-year course and carried out important works of Chongqing Materials Society. Secretary-General Han Yafang and vice-chairman Dai Wei delivered a speech, respectively. They greatly appreciated the achievements of Chongqing Materials Society, warmly congratulated the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Chongqing Materials Society. During the conference, Chairman PAN Fu-sheng made a report on the work of the second session. He reported the achievements in the organization of domestic / international meetings, personnel training and providing advisory services to the relevant departments and enterprises, and achieved remarkable results, and proposed some valuable suggestions on the work of the third council.Professor Pan Fusheng was elected as the President of the third Council, 11 Members was elected as the Vice Chairman including Gao Cheng, Jia-Cai Liu and Yin Xiaohui etc. Chen Yuan was elected as the Secretary-General, and Zeng Sumin, Ding Peidao, Ma Mingtu and Feng Shixun were hired as senior advisers of the society.During the 3rd General of Chongqing Materials Society Conference in the afternoon, Some material experts as Secretary-General Han Yafang, Dr. Huang Xiaoxu, Prof. Gao Jiacheng and Deputy General Manager Ren Dongyou made 8 presentations entitled ‘a new Aeronautical Materials’, ‘Nano-mechanical behavior of metals’, ‘the surface modification of magnesium-based biological material and its biocompatibility’ and ‘developments and applications of fiberglass composite materials’ etc.. Participants conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions. This conference has an important role in promoting the development of Chongqing Materials Society and Chongqing materials industry, and provides a good platform for exchanges and discussions for Chongqing materials workers.
