On August 3, 2012, National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys and South Korea Research Institute of Advanced Materials Magnesium Technology Innovation Center held 2012 Magnesium Seminar at Chongqing University. Prof. Nack Joon Kim, President of South Korean Institute of Metals and Materials, Editor-in-Chief of the Metals and Materials International, Pohang University of Science & Technology, and Prof. Kwang Seon Shin, Vice President of South Korean Institute of Metals and Materials, Director of Research Institute of Advanced Materials Magnesium Technology Innovation Center, SNU (Seoul National University), and Prof. Do Hyang Kim, Director of Defence Nano Technology Application Center and Amorphous alloy in Yonsei University, and Prof. Pan Fusheng, Chairman of National Professional Committee for Magnesium Alloy and Applied , Vice President of China Magnesium Association, President of Chongqing Academy of Science and Technology, Director of National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, and Prof. Liu Qing, Vice chairman of National Professional Committee for Magnesium Alloy and Applied , Vice director of National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, Vice president of Chongqing University participated in the Seminar.
    The meeting began with the salutatory of Prof. Pan Fusheng. Prof. Kwang Sean Shin gave a report about Research Activities at Magnesium Technology Innovation Center. Prof. Zhang Dingfei gave a report about development of National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys. Prof. Nack Joon Kim gave a special report entitled Structure and Properties of Twin-Roll Cast Magnesium Alloys. Prof. Liu Qing made a special report about 973 Project of National Magnesium Alloy. Prof. Do Hyang Kim made an academic report about Development of Mg-Zn Based Alloys with High Formability. Prof. Long Siyuan made a special report about Magnesium Smelting and Casting Technology and Equipment. Prof. Gao Jiacheng, Prof. Peng Xiaodong, Prof. Zhang Jing, Prof. Tang Aitao, Prof. Jiang Bin, Prof. Xin Renlong, Prof. Peng Jian, and Associate Prof. Xin Yunchang of Chongqing University, Prof. Jiang Xianquan, Director of New Material Research Center of Chongqing Academy of Science and Technology, Cao Jianyong, General Manager of Chongqing Sun Magnesium Co. Ltd., Senior engineer Ma Ji, Vice minister of the technique department of Chongqing Changan Automobile Limited, Prof. Chen Yuan, Secretary general of Institute of Materials of Chongqing, and Senior engineer Feng Shixun attended in the seminar. The participants had an in-depth discussion, deepen mutual understanding of each other in academic research and product development. The seminar had important significance for the China-Rok cooperation in the field of magnesium alloy.
